Biggest Losers Of The NFL So Far

Biggest Losers Of The NFL

We are through the second week of the NFL season and it is the perfect time to over react. The picture of who is good and who sucks is starting to take shape. And if we are being honest with ourselves there have been a lot of bad games. We did get a few good games Sunday, but having two absolute trash bag Monday night games has left a bad taste in my mouth. Let’s hope for some better weeks ahead. But now it’s time to look at the biggest losers of the NFL so far.

The Bears

Holy shit the Bears. Man do I feel for all the Bears fans out there. Putting it lightly, Justin Fields would appear to be absolutely terrible. I was pretty high on him going into this year too, but he looks so bad man. He now has 3 interceptions and 2 touchdowns. He has also added a fumble in there. Only 427 passing yards through two weeks, which was fine when he was an electric runner last season. But so far there hasn’t been much of that this year. And it certainly doesn’t help when the twitter posts start coming out of him missing wide open guys.

It’s certainly not all his fault. He’s been sacked 10 times. The coaching hasn’t looked good. Not great skill players around him. But man he has looked so bad. I mean the Bears have lost 12 straight games going back to last season. At what point do you have to be real and say that this is no longer a rebuild and it is a failure? I’m thinking the time is probably now. The Bucs do look surprisingly decent this year, but a loss to them and their biggest rival the Packers makes things pretty bleak. Maybe the biggest losers of the NFL so far.

The Broncos

With probably the most demoralizing loss of the weekend, the Broncos have to go into the biggest losers of the NFL so far category. They did almost complete a crazy comeback on a Russell Wilson hailmary at the end of regulation. Only to miss a 2 point conversion on a questionable call.

But don’t let that overshadow the fact that they were up 21-3 on the Commanders. The Commanders. Who are 2-0 now. But that’s a tough one for sure. Russell Wilson did look better in this game. He threw for over 300 yards. Although that is a little inflated from the hailmary completion. And he only completed 53% of his passes. Still winless under Sean Peyton and your quarterback is still a corn ball. I do think there is potential for the Broncos to get things together. But there is not much hope in my mind for any type of run from this team.

The Chargers

Not good for the Chargers. Sure, week one you lost to a team that looks like one of the best in the league in a shootout. But this week they got into another back and forth with the Titans and lost another one. They have almost no ground game so Herbert is having to throw the ball all the time. And he did look pretty good this week. But the disappointment here is one, you are even in overtime with the Titans, and two, you had the ball first in overtime and went three and out. Brendan Staley is definitely on the hot seat and I think rightfully so. Let’s not forget the end of their season last year when they lost to the Jaguars in the Playoffs after being up 27-0. Things are not looking great here.

The Bengals

The Bengals are familiar with starting off 0-2. And I’m going to keep this one quick so we can get to the real biggest loser. I expect the Bengals will get back to form and be in the mix at the end of the year. But the reports are out that Joe Burrow has aggravated his calf injury. That’s cause for concern. Their loss this week was to the Ravens who look pretty good so not a terrible loss. But they’re still 0-2. You can’t just do that every year and expect it to be fine, can you? Maybe the Bengals don’t belong on the biggest losers of the NFL so far list. But they are on the bubble.

The Browns

First off, thoughts and prayers to Nick Chubb. Terrible injury and I truly hope that everything goes well for him moving forward. But man the Browns are just a laughable franchise. I actually laughed when i thought about it. You are paying a quarterback who had over two dozen sexual assault claims against him, and had not played football for a full year, and was suspended by the league for another half season, $230 million. And he is just awful. Just terrible. And Browns fans have to cheer for that every week. What a disaster. He threw a pick six on the first play of the game. Then he followed that up with a sub par performance capped off with a fumble that was also returned for a touchdown. Which ended up being the winning score for the Steelers. But not before the Browns had two more possessions and did nothing. The Steelers are bad. Kenny Pickett threw for 222 yards and the rushed for 55 yards as a team. And they beat the Browns. Now they have lost their star running back for the year. And I stand by the Bears being the biggest losers of the NFL so far. It’s the Browns. The Bears can’t win football games. The Browns are just losers.

Others Receiving Votes

Those are my biggest losers. The Vikings could have been thrown in there. The Jets too. But those were the ones that really stood out to me. The Vikings played a pretty good game against a good Eagles team. And the Jets really don’t deserve to be on this list. Haven’t they lost enough already this year? Who do you think the biggest losers of the NFL so far are? Let me know what you think. I probably also could have included myself on this list because I can’t win a bet to save my life. But my futures are still alive, check them out here. And go follow me om twitter here. I’ll post my picks so you can fade me and get rich. No need in all of us being losers. And check back next week for another weekly NFL recap.
