Last season I did not get rich betting on the NFL. I did have Jalen Hurts to win MVP at +2500, and I will never get over him not winning. I could argue all day on why he should have won, but instead I am going to be the bigger man and move on to a new season. So here are the 2023 NFL bets that will make you rich. And me. Hopefully.

MVP Bets

This year I am going with another +2500 bet to win MVP, and that player is Tua Tagovailoa. Last season he was a legitimate contender for MVP before having some of the scariest concussions ever seen by man. The Dolphins are absolutely loaded on offense and they are playing in probably the toughest division in the NFL. If they are going to do anything this season Tua will have to be an MVP candidate. Plus he learned how to fall safely this off season by taking jiu-jitsu. So not only is he the only lefty QB in the league with two of the fastest players at receiver, he also has a sick new sleeve on his right arm and is basically a UFC fighter. MVP all day.

Also for MVP I will be sprinkling a little bit on Jared Goff at +4000. I really don’t have any justification for it I just like the Lions and how sick would it be if that hit. Pretty freakin sick. Being able to brag about having that slip would almost be better than the money in your account. Just think about having that bail out at the end of the season to cover all your other stupid loser bets for the year.

Comeback Player Of The Year

Do I feel like a scumbag for writing this one? Yeah I do a little bit. But we are trying to get rich here. Damar Hamlin is a -600 favorite to win this award. And he probably does deserve it the most. I mean, coming back from what he has been through is unreal, even if he doesn’t play much this season. It’s an incredible story that tugs at even the hardest of hearts. But….

There is another player who is coming back from some pretty serious stuff. No, his heart didn’t stop in front of millions of people watching Monday Night Football, but still serious stuff. John Metchie was recovering from an ACL tear from college when he was diagnosed with cancer. Now he is back and ready to go for the Texans this year. And if you have forgotten he was awesome in college and should be a big target for CJ Stroud this season. He is currently +2000 to win Comeback Player of the Year. Does it kind of suck that this award isn’t necessarily performance based anymore? Yes. Does it suck that there are these difficult situations that players have to come back from? Most definitely. But you aren’t getting rich betting on Damar Hamlin. You could with John Metchie.

Defensive Player Of The Year

Another one here at +2500. Quinnen Williams is one of the most likable players in the league. Not to mention he is an absolute monster. He had 12 sacks last season and he is the leader of a Jets defensive line, a team that will be in the spotlight all year after adding Aaron Rodgers. I’ll be honest I didn’t do a whole lot of research on this one. But looking at the odds his name jumped out. The typical names are ahead of him on the odds list, but we are looking for the bets that will make us rich. 25/1 is what we need.

Super Bowl Champion

There are a couple of teams that look promising at the odds range we are searching for. The Dolphins, The Chargers, maybe The Lions. But I am going to go with the Jacksonville Jaguars at +2800. Playing in the weakest division in the AFC with two rookie quarterbacks and a Titans team that is hard to feel confident in, the Jags played well at the end of the year and proved they could win tough games. It’s crazy what you can accomplish when your coaching isn’t out knuckle deep in random girls assholes after a loss. Trevor Lawrence has improved and they added Calvin Ridley who was one of the best up and coming receivers before his suspension. As far as long shot bets go I like them the best.

Let’s Get Rich In 2023

These are my long shot bets for the 2023 NFL season. As I am finishing writing this I just realized that most of the players I listed for individual awards are former Alabama players. That was completely by accident. But side note Roll Tide. And side side note is you want a college bet Jalen Milroe is +2500 for the Heisman. I don’t hate it. He looked much improved and I was impressed. Anywho, if you are going to tail any of these bets, or have any other long shots that will make me rich let me know! Please, don’t be stingy.
