Last night I was watching the Braves game as they again dominated the first inning. Marcel Ozuna hit a 3 run bomb to put the Braves in front, and the broadcast booth threw out a stat that I couldn’t believe. The Braves lead the league in homeruns, even if you take out Matt Olson’s 43!!

So I went and looked it up. From mlb.com, The Dodgers who have the second most homeruns on the year are currently at 186. After Ozuna’s in the first and Acuna adding one later on, the Braves have 231 homeruns. Matt Olson has hit 43 this year. So a little math that even I can do tells you that if you take away every single homeruns Olson has added to that total, Atlanta would still have 188.

Oh and if you didn’t know, Matt Olson leads the entire league in homerun! So if you take away the numbers from the beat homerun hitter of the year, the Braves are still the best. That is absolutely mind blowing to me. Just unreal. That would be like the Warriors having the most 3s in a season even if you took out Steph Curry. Maybe that’s a good analogy I don’t even know I can’t think of anything to even compare it to.

World Series Favorites

Atlanta has a historic offense this year. They consistently put up big numbers, especially in the first inning when they demoralize teams. Until their pitching lets the other team back in the game a short time later. That’s beside the point. I’m not worried about the pitching yet (I’m a little worried) and the starters seem to be figuring some things out (please figure some stuff out).

The offense has been so good that some people on Twitter or X, whatever we are calling it now, think the Braves must be cheating similar to how the Astros were a few years ago. To those people I say you are idiots and this team is just awesome so get over it. And if the Braves are cheating there is a good chance I become depressed and jump in front of a bus. Hypothetically of course (maybe).
